Bring an avid classical music lover for the past 30+ years and married to a wife who has been teaching piano for more than 20 years, my expectations of a music teacher is quite high. Recently, I developed very strong passion for the violin instrument as well as violin music and started the daunting task of looking for a violin teacher who can meet my demand and I can't tell you enough how glad I am to have found XJ!!! I fell in love with her teaching method instantly from the very first lesson. First of all, XJ presented herself professionally, dress up appropriately during lesson despite being at home, her demeanor is always very pleasant, calming and patient. She has a structured lesson plan but not rigid as she will tailor it to suit the student's needs. Most teachers out there do not cater loan violin for trial and expect you to buy 1 but XJ kept a range of instruments available for the same purpose. During lesson, she can instantaneously whip out various exercises like Leverson, Schreideck, Wolfhart etc (yes and I mean she knows exactly which particular page, exercise number out of the few hundreds) to target on my weaknesses and I must admit that I'm very impressed throughout these 10 lessons that I had with her, she knows exactly how to help me improve on techniques required at every stage of my learning. I can never imagined that I could progress to grade 2 after just 7 lessons. XJ also respond promptly to messages out of lesson time, providing advice on violin and accessories selection and has always been very encouraging when I'm stuck with my learnings. She is the NO 1 recommended violin teacher for anyone who is serious about mastering this instrument. BRAVO teacher XJ 👏🏻
